Ron Smith is a lawyer, chartered mediator and chartered arbitrator based in Kelowna, British Columbia. He practices in the areas of family, employment and personal injury law. Ron attended law school at the University of British Columbia and has practiced in B.C. since 1974.

Ron began practicing mediation in 1985 - he has conducted hundreds of mediations in most areas of law since that time.

Ron has earned the designations of Chartered Mediator and Chartered Arbitrator from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada by demonstrating that he meets the level of training, experience and competence required for the Institute. He has been one of two mediators designated as a "qualifying mediator" to approve candidates for designation as Chartered Mediators.

Ron is a dedicated leader in the British Columbia legal profession. He is a founding Board Member and currently serves as Vice-Chair of the B.C. Mediator Roster Society. Ron is also a past Chair and Executive Board Member of the Continuing Legal Education Society of B.C. (CLE).

Some of Ron's leadership activities entail teaching and coaching mediation skills for CLE, the Justice Institute of British Columbia, the B.C. Arbitration and Mediation Institute and the National Judicial Institute.

Ron is a Board Member of the Vancouver Foundation and volunteers with the Lawyers Assistance Program of B.C..
